In honor of Older Americans month, Utopia Home Care helped sponsor the 41st Annual Nassau County EISEP Older Americans Month Luncheon and Conference. This years event was held at the Milleridge Inn Cottage in Jericho, with over 300 attendees representing service providers, senior centers, community members, and Government officials.
The highlight of the event is the Nassau County Senior Citizen of the Year award, which had a pair of honorees for 2015. Duda Sharma, RN, was recognized for her work with the Indian community, food pantries and programs that offer free medications for the poor. Gilbert Columbo was also honored for his volunteer efforts with the meals on wheels program and driving veterans in need of transportation.
Utopia attended the event, as well as sponsoring a table for 10 seniors from the county's senior center network to attend.
