In honor of "National Memory Screening Day", Utopia Home Care of Wyomissing provided free memory screenings at our location in Berks County. Utopia is a member of the national screening initiative for early detection in Alzheimer's disease and dementia, and is only official site in all of Berks County, (in addition to being the only home care agency) with this accreditation.
Developed by the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, these screenings consist of a short question and task based test that is administered by our clinical staff. The test results are not meant to be a clinical diagnosis, but to assist with early detection of Alzheimer's Disease and dementia. The earlier the disease is detected, the more effective treatment can be.
