Utopia Home Care Field Staff Recieve Alzheimer’s Association essentiALZ Certification - Long Island, NY

Utopia Home Care was recently one of 10 Long Island home care agencies to share the Alzheimer’s Association essentiALZ training program with caregivers and home health aides who are actively working with clients diagnosed with Alzheimer's or dementia. The Alzheimer’s Association essentiALZ is an online certification program that provides recognition for knowledge of quality dementia care practices.

The exam tests knowledge of evidence-based dementia care practices that are promoted in the nationally recognized Alzheimer’s Association Dementia Care Practice Recommendations and supported by more than 30 leading health and senior care organizations. A team of 25 home health aides received additional training regarding the disease, communication skills, and person centered care tactics with another 25 home health aides set to receive the training over the next few months.
