"I scream, you scream, we all scream for Ice Cream!" joked some of the Glastonbury residents attending the Ice Cream social, on May 21st, to celebrate 25 years of congregate living in the Herbert T. Clark House. Herbert T. Clark is one of several managed residential communities in Connecticut that Utopia provides staffing for. Director Wendy Ehrhardt spoke to residents about the dedication and hard work that helped keep this wonderful congregate open for 25 years under her leadership, including their continued partnership with Utopia and our dedication to their assisted living program.
Later in the afternoon, after the ice cream was eaten and speeches were made, the real treat arrived for the residents. The North Street Singers from the Silk City of Manchester, CT filled the dining hall with sweet music, ranging from the Crooners era to Beatle Mania. The room roared with applause after every tune, and audience participation was at an all time high. Utopia Business Development Manager Kala Dumas sang along with the Crooners, allowing the residents to teach her words to the songs that she'd never heard.
