What's the first step?

Since every patient and situation is unique, the best option is to contact your local branch. By contacting your local branch, you can assure that you’re dealing with someone in your area that knows the most efficient route to starting services. Our staff of intake coordinators is ready to help guide you through the Medicare/Medicaid process, accessing long term care insurance, state/local regulations, and any steps that need to be completed before services can start.

Do I get a choice of aides?

We understand that inviting a “stranger” into your home to help care for you or a loved one is no easy task. Our experienced staff works with every patient and their family to ensure a comfortable fit for each situation.

Do I need a referral from a doctor?

A doctor's referral is not needed to start care, however a doctor does need to sign off on all care plans in every state.

Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?

Yes, all of Utopia's offices are licensed, bonded, and insured.

Are the aides drug tested before they start working?

Yes, all of our field employees are drug tested before they start working.

How are services paid for?

Utopia accepts Long Term Care Insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, and Private Pay. Accepted payment methods vary by branch; please contact your local office for more information.

Which type of Long Term Care Insurance do you accept?

Utopia accepts Long Term Care Insurance from the following companies: Mutual of Omaha, Prudential, MetLife, John Hancock, Bankers Life, and Mass Mutual.

Are services billed daily, weekly, or monthly?

Services are billed and paid for on a weekly basis.

What are your rates/pricing for services?

Since each patient’s situation is unique with respect to their needs, we do not publish our rates on our website or send them via email. The type of service needed (RN, HHA, Homemaker or combination),  length of services (hourly, daily, respite or live in), and the type of payer source benefits (long term care insurance, Medicaid/Medicare, private pay) patients or their families are entitled to are all taken into account in order to give the most accurate pricing.

In order to get the most exact structure of the costs, it’s best to call your local office or Central Intake line. Our staff of professionals is well prepared to handle each individual situation and help access any benefits to their fullest that a family member or loved one may be entitled to.  These numbers can be found on the “Locations” portion of our website for the office nearest you.
